Crash statistics on this site come from three public sources, each labeled where it appears. NHTSA FARS (Fatality Analysis Reporting System) covers fatal crashes only; this site uses the 2019–2023 Final files and the 2024 Annual Report File, which is preliminary and may be revised. "Large truck" follows NHTSA's body-type definition for trucks over 10,000 lb GVWR. The FMCSA crash file covers crashes that New Jersey reports to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration because someone died, someone was transported for treatment, or a vehicle was towed, involving a truck or bus; this site uses 2021–2025 and, where stated, 2026 year-to-date through mid-September. Reporting lags, so 2025 and 2026 counts are incomplete. New Jersey State Police fatal-crash counts, where shown, cover all vehicle types and are unofficial and subject to change.

Involving a truck does not mean the truck caused the crash. Road names in the FMCSA file are free text and were grouped into routes as closely as the text allows. FMCSA and FARS fatal counts differ by design. Data is current as of September 2026 and is refreshed quarterly. Methods and full tables are on the Middlesex County truck crash map and data page.

The county map shows fatal large-truck crashes from NHTSA FARS (2019–2023 Final files; 2024 Annual Report File, preliminary), road and boundary geometry from U.S. Census Bureau TIGER/Line 2024, and office, court, hospital and news-crash points placed from addresses and news reports. All point locations are approximate and are for illustration, not scene locations.

Crashes described on this site are identified by date, road, town and vehicle type. This site does not name crash victims, charged drivers or trucking companies in connection with any crash. Criminal charges are described as charges, not findings. Any generated image of a person carries the notice "*ACTOR PORTRAYAL. NOT A REAL CLIENT." No image on this site is presented as a real crash, client or attorney unless it is one.
